A viral AI-generated campaign video, currently getting shared on social media, reimagines the world’s most powerful figures not in summits or war rooms, but deep in the state on the Kerala election campaign trail.

While AI “deepfakes" or reimagined art pieces are a dime a dozen, this specific campaign (credited to Artillense) is winning hearts for its uncanny adherence to local cultural nuances. As the user who shared the video pointed out: “Check out this Kerala AI campaign video featuring world leaders. The attention to minute details – especially the Indian/Kerala mannerisms."

The screenshots from the video reveal a hilarious, alternate reality where global geopolitics is decided over pappadam and street rallies!

In the video, you can see many world leaders, such as Xi Jinping, who has been portrayed as a comrade on the trail, wearing a white shirt with a red communist scarf adorned with the hammer and sickle. He is seen walking through a lush, coconut-grove-lined path, quintessential to rural Kerala.

Donald Trump is seen standing tall in a Mahindra open-top jeep, sporting a crisp white shirt and a traditional Mundu (dhoti), draped in a saffron scarf with the “Votes for Trump" banner behind him.
