Two Flights Circle Over Mangaluru Amid Bad Weather, Land Safely After Delay

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, May 14, 2026: Two flights scheduled to land at the Mangaluru International Airport were forced to remain airborne for over half an hour on Thursday due to adverse weather conditions and heavy rain in the coastal district, causing concern among residents in the Vittla region.

According to sources, the aircraft arrived near the Kenjaru-based airport at their scheduled time. However, dense cloud cover and strong winds reduced visibility, preventing pilots from clearly spotting the runway and proceeding with the landing.

As a precautionary measure, both flights continued circling in the sky until weather conditions improved.

Residents in Vittla grew anxious after noticing the aircraft flying unusually low over the area for an extended period. Some feared the flights may have developed technical problems, while many gathered outdoors watching the skies with concern.

After the weather improved slightly, the pilots successfully carried out the landing operations, and both flights landed safely at the Mangaluru International Airport.
