Vittal Police Seize Two Tipper Lorries Transporting Sand Illegally

Mangaluru, Jul. 5, 2026: Vittal Police have seized two tipper lorries allegedly transporting sand without valid permits and registered a case against the two drivers.

Acting on a tip-off, Police Inspector Prakash Devadiga and his team conducted a raid at Ojala in Kula village of Bantwal taluk, where they intercepted two tipper lorries loaded with sand.

The drivers, identified as Mohammed Irfan (28) of Kodipady and Naushad (26) of Kabaka in Puttur taluk, allegedly admitted that they had loaded the sand from Alankar in Kadaba taluk and were transporting it without the required permits or supporting documents.

The police seized both vehicles and registered a case at the Vittal Police Station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957, and the Karnataka Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1994. Further investigation is underway.
