New Delhi, May 15, 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday announced that the re-examination for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2026 will be conducted on June 21, bringing an end to days of uncertainty for over 22 lakh medical aspirants after the May 3 exam was cancelled over paper leak allegations.
The fresh exam date was announced through the official X handle of the National Testing Agency (NTA). The agency stated that the decision to conduct the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination on Sunday, June 21, has been taken with the approval of the Government of India.
"National Testing Agency has decided to conduct the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026 on Sunday, 21 June 2026," the agency said in its post.
The cancellation of the May 3 exam, announced on May 12, had left lakhs of candidates waiting for clarity on the revised schedule, admit cards, and further admission process.
NTA also advised candidates and parents to rely only on official communication channels for authentic updates related to the examination.
