Kasaragod, December 13, 2025: The results of the local body elections held in Kerala will be declared today (Saturday). Vote counting will begin at 8 am, and the complete results are expected to be announced by afternoon.
A total of nine counting centres have been set up for the purpose. Elections were held on Thursday for 48 local self-government institutions in Kasaragod district, recording a voter turnout of 74.89 per cent. Out of 11,12,190 eligible voters, 8,32,894 exercised their franchise. This included 3,75,959 men, 4,56,933 women, and two transgender voters.
The elections covered 16 district panchayat divisions, six block panchayats, three municipalities, and 38 gram panchayats. Counting arrangements have been made at nine centres, including three municipal and six block panchayat counting centres.
The counting will take place at Kumbla Government Higher Secondary School, Kasaragod Government College, Bovikanam Higher Secondary School, Kanhangad Durga Higher Secondary School, Nileshwar Rajas Higher Secondary School, Padannakkad Nehru College, Parappa Government High School, and Hosdurg Higher Secondary School.
The electronic voting machines have been kept at the counting centres under strict police security. With the LDF, UDF, and BJP all in the fray, today’s results are expected to generate keen interest.
