Bhopal, May 19, 2026: Two important CCTV videos linked to the death of Twisha Sharma, a case that has sparked widespread discussion across the country, have now surfaced, giving a new direction to the investigation.
Police are closely examining the footage to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident that took place under the limits of Katara Hills police station in Bhopal.
In the first CCTV video, which has gone viral on social media, Twisha is seen walking alone towards the upper floor shortly before the incident. She is seen carrying an object in her hand, though it is not yet clear what it was.
Earlier, Twisha’s mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, had told the media that Twisha’s mobile phone was found inside the house. This has led to speculation that the object seen in her hand was not a mobile phone.
The second CCTV video has raised further concerns. In the footage, three men are seen carrying Twisha downstairs from the upper floor. Among them was her husband Samarth Singh, who was also seen attempting to perform CPR on her while bringing her down.
At the same time, Giribala Singh was seen moving up and down the staircase in a panic. The videos surfaced after Twisha’s death and have led to several questions among the public.
Twisha’s parents have alleged that she was subjected to dowry harassment and murdered. Police have also recovered WhatsApp messages reportedly sent by Twisha to her mother before her death.
In one of the messages, she allegedly pleaded with her mother, saying, “Please take me away from here somehow.”
Police are yet to determine whether the case is suicide or murder and are waiting for the forensic report.
Following the incident, Samarth Singh went absconding. Police have announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for information leading to his arrest.
Senior police officials said the investigation has been intensified and further details are expected to emerge soon.
