Padubidri: Scooter rider killed after crashing into water tanker

Padubidri, May 20, 2026: A 22-year-old scooter rider was killed in an accident involving a water tanker and a scooter near Kanchugarakere bus stop in Ellur village on the morning of May 19.
The deceased has been identified as Krishna Moolya (22), a resident of Paniyoor Centre.
According to reports, the water tanker, which was travelling from the Uchila side, suddenly turned right onto the concrete road leading to Kanchugarakere without giving any indication. As a result, the scooter travelling behind the tanker from Uchila towards Ellur reportedly lost control and crashed into the rear wheel of the tanker.
The rider fell onto the road along with the scooter and sustained serious injuries. He is said to have died on the way to the Udupi District Hospital.
A case has been registered at the Padubidri Police Station.
