Mangaluru, July 10, 2020: A medical doctor and academic, well known in medical circles, Dr Prema Saldanha is admired by peers and students for her expertise. She is the newly appointed Professor & Head of the Department of Pathology, at Yenepoya  Medical College in Mangaluru and is an outstanding Pathologist.

Dr. Prema is highly specialized from renowned institutions and is known to be very competent in the field of Pathology. She holds an  MBBS, MD (Pathology),  DNB from St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru,  MNAMS from  National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, PGDHOM (Hospital Management) from AIIMS, Chennai and ACME Advance Course in Medical Education from Christian Medical College, Vellore.

She has earlier served as Lecturer at Fr. Muller’s Medical College and as Assistant Professor /Associate Professor at KMC, Mangalore.

Some of her many interests are  Medical education, Oncopathology Development of Curriculum, improving the teaching of Pathology by Innovative Techniques and use of electronic resources in medical teaching. Her special attention is to research guidance and  she presently guides 19 MD Dissertation students and two PhD Thesis scholars.

Prof Dr Prema Saldanha is the elder daughter of a yester year renowned medic of Fr.Muller’s Hospital and a pioneer homeopath Dr.V T D’Souza, who was practicing until recently. Her husband Dr. Julian Saldanha is a Resident Medical Officer  (RMO)  at Wenlock and as of now both are contributing at the forefront of the ’Corona War.’
