Mangaluru, December 15, 2025: In an operation conducted by the Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) unit, police have arrested three members of a gang that was bringing narcotic drugs (MDMA) from Bengaluru and supplying them to drug peddlers in Mangaluru.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ahmed Shabith (35) from Mallur, Mangaluru; Mohammed Shamsheer (36) from Perli, Bantwal; and Nausheen (27) from Sarapady, according to the City Police Commissioner.
On December 13, CCB unit police intercepted a car near Arkula and detained Ahmed Shabith and his associates. During the operation, the police seized 90 grams of MDMA, along with the car and mobile phones in their possession. Further investigation is underway.
Police revealed that Ahmed Shabith had been regularly procuring MDMA from Bengaluru and supplying it to drug peddlers in Mangaluru. To avoid suspicion, the gang was using the assistance of a woman, Nausheen, to transport the MDMA. Acting on this information, officers and staff of the Mangaluru City CCB unit arrested the accused.
The accused have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
A case has been registered at the Kankanady City Police Station, and further investigation is in progress, said City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy, CH.
