Family Dispute: Woman Allegedly Throws Two Children into Well in Perne; One Dies

Uppinangady, Sep 20, 2026: A three-year-old boy died and another child sustained serious injuries after a woman allegedly threw two children into a well following a family dispute at Perne in the Uppinangady police station limits on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, a marital dispute arose during a phone conversation between local resident Sinan, 32, and his wife Noorunnisa, 28. In an alleged act of anger, Noorunnisa is said to have thrown her three-and-a-half-year-old child and her husband’s sister’s three-year-old son into a well near their house.


Perne Family Dispute


Local residents immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the children from the well. However, the three-year-old son of Sinan’s sister died in the incident. The other child was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment and is reported to be in serious condition.

Uppinangady police have registered a case under Crime No. 121/2026 in connection with the incident. Noorunnisa has reportedly been taken into custody and is being questioned by the police.
