Bantwal: CM D.K. Shivakumar visits senior Congress leader B. Janardhana Poojary

Bantwal, Sep 19, 2026: Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar visited the residence of former Union minister and senior Congress leader B. Janardhana Poojary in Bantwal on Friday night and held a brief meeting with him.

Despite his busy schedule, Shivakumar made time to visit Poojary’s residence. During the nearly 10-minute interaction, the Chief Minister enquired about Poojary’s health and discussed various matters with the veteran leader.

Shivakumar had also met Poojary in February when he was serving as Deputy Chief Minister. During that meeting, Poojary had wished him success in his work and expressed hope that he would bring pride to the state. He had also reportedly wished to see Shivakumar become Chief Minister in the future.

Now that Shivakumar is Chief Minister, his visit to Poojary’s residence recalled their earlier meeting.

During the visit, Poojary honoured Shivakumar by draping a shawl over him. The Chief Minister also posed for photographs with Poojary’s wife and family members.

Minister U.T. Khader, former minister B. Ramanath Rai, Dakshina Kannada District Congress president R. Padmaraj, and party leaders Mithun Rai and Inayat Ali were among those present.
