Dipsita Dhar accuses Centre of failing youth on jobs, education and healthcare

Mangaluru, Sep 20, 2026: West Bengal youth leader and activist Dipsita Dhar accused the BJP-led Union government of failing to deliver on its promise of building a developed India despite being in power since 2014.

She was speaking after inaugurating the Dakshina Kannada district conference of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) at Bishop Jathanna Auditorium in Mangaluru on Sunday. The conference focused on education, employment, healthcare and the future of the youth.

Dhar alleged that farmers and workers were facing difficulties and claimed that the Centre was taking measures affecting their rights. She also alleged inadequate action against attacks on women and said poverty continued to affect lower- and middle-income sections.

She further alleged that students protesting for quality education and against corruption were being branded anti-national. Dhar also accused the BJP and RSS of attempting to create social divisions through cultural and artistic platforms.

Calling on youth to unite, she urged them to organise struggles around issues affecting their lives.

DYFI state secretary Basavaraj Poojar, DYFI Dakshina Kannada district president B K Intiyaz, secretary Santhosh Bajal and leaders Tayyub Bengre, Madhuri Bolara and Manoj Vamanjoor, besides SFI district president Azlan Bengre and secretary Vinayak, were present.

Earlier, hundreds of youth participated in a procession from Jyothi Circle to the conference venue.
