Padmaraj Poojary Hails First Dakshina Kannada Cabinet Meeting as ‘Historic Success’

Mangaluru, Sep 20, 2026: Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) president-elect Padmaraj R. Poojary on Saturday described the state Cabinet meeting held in the district for the first time as a “historic success”.

Addressing reporters in Mangaluru, Poojary said the Congress government led by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar had responded to what he termed the Opposition’s “false propaganda” and attempts to exploit people’s emotions through concrete development initiatives.

He welcomed the development projects announced for the coastal region during the Cabinet meeting and accused Opposition parties of misleading people by exploiting regional sentiments.

“The Congress government has responded through its work, not just words. While the Opposition plays politics based on emotions, the Congress has worked to respect those sentiments and promote development,” Poojary said.

He added that the Cabinet meeting had set a “benchmark” for future administration.
