Mangalore, Oct 10, 2011: The Mangalore East (Kadri) police have arrested a Nepali citizen and have registered a case of theft against him on Sunday. The accused had been arrested for theft in March 2010 too.
The accused is Karan Khadga (37) of Pimi Bajhang in West Nepal who used to live in Thokkottu for the past 18 years with his associate Gyanendra Singh (20), who is also from West Nepal.
With this arrest, the police have solved a case of theft registered at the police station, in which valuables worth Rs. 1.15 lakh, two laptops, and a mobile phone were stolen from Target Marketing Services, a business belonging to P. K. Kushalappa Gowda at Kadri.
Khadga and his gang have been accused of several counts of theft; moreover, he is an illegal immigrant. He had arrived into India in 1993 and had married Sita, after which he created fake documents to get a voter ID. He also got a house in Someshwar under the government’s Ashraya scheme.
