Mangaluru, July 9, 2026: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan, who had returned home on leave from Jammu, was killed in a road accident near KPT under the Kadri police station limits in Mangaluru.
The deceased has been identified as Sitaram Gowda, a native of Putye in Koila village of Kadaba taluk in Dakshina Kannada district. He was serving with the CISF and was posted at the Central Jail in Jammu.

According to police, Gowda had come to his hometown on July 3 on leave. On Monday, he had travelled to his native village to submit documents related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
While returning, he met with a major road accident near KPT and sustained critical injuries. He died before he could be shifted to a hospital.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
Gowda’s untimely death has cast a pall of gloom over his native village of Koila-Kadaba, with villagers and relatives mourning the loss of the young CISF personnel.
