Fr. Ivan Madtha bags National Excellent Award 2011

Mangalore, Nov 20, 2011: According to a recent announcement made by the Catholic Priests Conference of India (CPCI), Fr. Ivan Madtha of Mangalore Diocese and 4 other priests from all over the country will receive the National Excellence Award 2011 on Nov 30 on the occasion of the National Priests Conference of India, which is scheduled to be held in Trissur, Kerala.

The award is being conferred on Fr. Madtha in recognition of his use of magic for the promotion of Christianity and his contributions in spite of losing a hand in a train accident.

Fr. Madtha is also the recipient of the Swabhiman Award for physically challenged achievers.

A resident of Vianney Home in Kankanady, Mangalore, Fr. Madtha travels all over the country, delivering retreats and value-based talks and conducting personality development workshops and magic shows.

Fr. Davis Chirammel of Trichur Archdiocese, Fr. P. J. Jacob of Belgaum Diocese, Fr. Joe Pereira of Mumbai Archdiocese, and Fr. Anand Muttungal of Bhopal Archdiocese have also bagged these awards in recognition of various achievements and contributions.
