The initiative aimed to tackle marine pollution and protect fragile coastal ecosystems. Volunteers collected a significant amount of trash along the shoreline during the clean-up.

The event was inaugurated by MRPL Director (Refinery) Nandhakumar V. Pillai. Coast Guard District Commander and Deputy Inspector-General Praveen Kumar Mishra urged citizens to develop the habit of proper plastic disposal to prevent waste from entering the food chain. He stressed the need for collective action against the growing threat of marine pollution and its global impact.

To engage the public, the programme also featured sand art, fitness challenges, water sports, cultural performances, a skit, and a tree plantation drive.
