Mangalore, June 29, 2011: The CPI (M), state unit, has demanded the immediate resignation of CM B. S. Yeddyurappa for failing to keep his word of testifying before Lord Manjunatha of Dharmasthala on Monday.
Addressing a group of protestors at a protest meet held in front of the DC’s office today, CPI (M) District Secretary B. Madhava said that the CM should resign because he has failed to govern the state in accordance with the Constitution and has not cooperated to a free and fair enquiry into the various corruption allegations leveled against him.
Speaking further, he said that backing away from taking the truth test while he had challenged JD (S) leader Kumaraswamy to do it proves that he is resorting to unconstitutional methods. It also shows that he does not want to undergo the legal processes to examine the allegations of corruption leveled against him.
Speaking on the occasion, Comrade K. R. Sriyan said that people had given the BJP government a chance on the assurance of CM B. S. Yeddyurappa that he would make Karnataka a model state, but the people were not aware that he would make Karnataka a model state for corruption.
He criticized the CM for busying himself with truth tests while he ought to be working for the development of the state. He added that the CM has become famous for his land scams throughout the state.
