Mangaluru, Apr 12, 2026: The seventh edition of ‘NICO’s Chocolate Street’, a two-day event showcasing a variety of homemade delicacies, began on Saturday at Fiza by Nexus Mall, attracting large numbers of visitors.
Organised by the Nitte Institute of Communications (NICO) in association with CAMPCO, the event features an array of treats including chocolates, bombolonis, doughnuts, brownies, and Korean buns, complemented by a pleasant musical ambience. The event was inaugurated by Mayur Shetty, founder of Solmelu Chocolate.


Addressing the gathering, Maulya Baladi, Head of Nitte Institute of Communication, said the initiative aims to promote creativity and entrepreneurship among students. Coordinator Prakash was present.
Rahul V.B. welcomed the gathering, Haleema Shiza delivered the vote of thanks, and Khushi Shetty compered the programme.
Participants expressed enthusiasm over the platform. Student Khadeeja Kubra said she manages a small baking venture alongside her studies, preparing and selling brownies, cheesecakes, and macarons with support from family and friends.
Soumya Shenai from Bijai said she produces preservative-free chocolates and has received encouraging customer response, adding that she has taken it up as a full-time profession after leaving her teaching career.
