Bengaluru, Sep 17, 2025: Cyber criminals have hacked into the bank accounts of former Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda and siphoned off Rs 3 lakh.
Speaking at a programme organised in Bengaluru on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, where 75 civic workers were felicitated at the BBMP Park in RMV Extension, Gowda revealed the incident.
He said, “Yesterday, three of my bank accounts were hacked. Each account lost around Rs 1 lakh, amounting to a total of ₹3 lakh. The hackers stole the money through UPI transactions from my HDFC, SBI, and Axis Bank accounts. I will be filing a complaint with the Cyber Crime police.”
Gowda further added that cyber fraud cases are rising alarmingly despite government and police efforts to curb them, and warned that if such crimes are not controlled, larger financial loot incidents may occur in the future.
