New Delhi, June 7, 2026: Nepal has reiterated its commitment to resolving border disputes with India through existing bilateral mechanisms, with Nepal Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal stating that no issue is too complex when addressed through dialogue, mutual respect and understanding.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, a day after holding talks with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Khanal said Nepal does not view India through the lens of contemporary geopolitical rivalries but seeks a relationship focused on economic transformation and regional cooperation.

“No problem is too large and complex when we meet with an open heart, rational mind and mutual respect,” Khanal said, referring to the longstanding boundary dispute between the two neighbours.
His remarks effectively align with India’s position that all bilateral issues should be resolved directly between New Delhi and Kathmandu without third-party mediation.
The talks between Khanal and Jaishankar covered a wide range of areas, including trade, connectivity, energy, critical technologies and people-to-people exchanges. Both sides expressed interest in deepening cooperation and strengthening developmental partnerships.
The comments come against the backdrop of periodic tensions over boundary issues, including disputes related to the Kalapani-Limpiyadhura-Lipulekh region.
Emphasising the importance of closer economic ties, Khanal said Nepal remains committed to advancing cooperation with India and addressing all outstanding issues through constructive engagement.
