Mangaluru: Three arrested in separate NDPS cases, MDMA worth 11.68 grams siezed

Mangaluru, Jun 10, 2026: Mangaluru City Police have arrested three individuals in separate operations related to narcotics cases under the jurisdiction of the Mangaluru South Police Station.

In the first incident, two accused who were allegedly attempting to sell the prohibited narcotic substance MDMA were taken into custody. The arrested persons have been identified as Janan Jagannath (29) and Parikshith (33).

Acting on credible information that the duo was trying to sell MDMA to members of the public in the Goods Shed area, officers and personnel from the Mangaluru South Police Station conducted a raid and apprehended the suspects.

During the operation, the police seized 11.68 grams of MDMA, ₹1,110 in cash, three mobile phones, and an electronic weighing machine from the accused. A case has been registered at the Mangaluru South Police Station under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The accused were produced before a court and remanded to police custody for further investigation.

In a separate development, the police also arrested Sushan Poojary (27), who had been absconding in connection with another NDPS case previously registered at the same police station. One accused in that case had already been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

During the course of the ongoing investigation, police traced and apprehended Sushan Poojary on June 9 for his alleged involvement in the case.

The arrested accused was produced before the court, and further interrogation and investigation into the case are underway, police said.

The Mangaluru City Police stated that they are continuing their efforts to curb the illegal trafficking and sale of narcotic substances and have urged the public to share any information regarding such activities with the authorities.
