Mangalore, March 2, 2013 : Nearly 50 children from four special schools in Mangalore, brought their creative talents to fore in ‘Splash’ a colouring contest for the differently abled at the Lions Seva Mandir on March 1, Friday.
The event was held jointly by the Department of Mass Communication of St Aloysius College Mangalore, Centre for Integrated Learning (CIL) and Lions Club Mangalore.
Children from St Agnes Special School, Bendur, SDM Mangala Jyothi Integrated School, Vamanjoor, Chethana Child Development Centre, Carstreet, Saanidhya Residential School and Training Centre, Shaktinagar took part in the contest.
Corrine Rasquinha, Founder President of White Doves, inaugurated the contest. K Aravinda Rao, President of Lions Club, Mangalore, Nagaraj Sharma,Secretary, Raghuvir Rao,Treasurer, Sachita Nandagopal,Executive Director of CIL, Lakshmi Shenoy, Lecturer, were present at the function.
Prakash Shenoy, Girish and Vigen Shenoy were the judges.Bharath Bookmark Store sponsored the colouring sheets and crayons.
Results : Under 12 category :1.Harshit 2.Suchith 3.Soumya( all from Mangala Jyothi School) Above 12 category : 1. Abhishek 2. Ashraf(both from Mangala Jyothi School) 3.Mohammed Ashriq from St Agnes School stood third. Participation certificates were given to all.
