Kozhikode, Feb 13, 2026: A video showing an elderly woman imparting a lesson in civic sense to a man riding a scooter on a footpath has gone viral on social media.
The clip, shared on Instagram by a user named alfu__stories_ with the caption, “When ammachi says enough is enough,” is reportedly from Eranhipalam.

In the video, the man is seen riding on the footpath to bypass traffic on the main road. While pedestrians initially made way for the scooter, the elderly woman stood firm, blocking his path and insisting that he return to the main road. When the rider attempted to move forward, she refused to step aside and even began recording him as evidence.
After a brief standoff, the man eventually gave up, made a U-turn, and rode back onto the road.
The video, shot in Kozhikode, has struck a chord online, drawing widespread praise for the woman’s courage and sense of responsibility. It has crossed 24 million views and attracted thousands of comments, with many hailing her as “the real hero.”
One user commented, “It just takes one person to initiate change.” Another wrote, “I want to be like her.” Others lauded her with remarks such as “Ammachi rocked.”
Some users also criticised the rider’s reluctance to acknowledge his mistake, noting that greater civic awareness is needed.
A comment under the post identified the woman as Prabha, a former warden at Captain Lakshmi Hostel in Kozhikode. “She was strict and scary at times, but also deeply caring and loving,” the comment read.
