Gwalior, Aug 25, 2026: What began as a romantic social media stunt ended with a Rs 5,500 traffic fine for a Gwalior man after his girlfriend covered his car with 3,400 lipstick marks and a video of the vehicle went viral.
Traffic Police Inspector Abhishek Raghuvanshi said the car was seen moving through the City Centre area in a video that went viral on social media two days ago. Following an investigation, police traced the vehicle to the Thatipur area and brought its driver to the police station.
The vehicle owner was fined Rs 5,500 under the Motor Vehicles Act for modifying the car. Police also directed him to clean the vehicle and remove the lipstick marks.
The owner, Aditya Sikarwar, said his girlfriend decorated the car after being inspired by what he described as a “foreign trend”.
“She spent about three and a half hours creating 3,400 lipstick marks all over the car and then uploaded a video on social media,” he said.
Sikarwar said he was unaware that the modification could violate traffic rules. Following the police action, he cleaned the car and paid the fine.
“One should never do anything that violates the law,” he said.
