CJP’s satirical counter, Lal Hit Janata Party, protests abusive remarks against PM Modi

New Delhi, Oct 9, 2026: A day before the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) is scheduled to stage a massive protest at Jantar Mantar, around 200 people gathered at Janpath in central Delhi on Friday to condemn the alleged assault on police personnel and the use of abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during protests.

The demonstrators assembled at the call of the ’Lal Hit Janata Party’, an outfit apparently named after a popular insect-control brand in a satirical counter to the CJP.

"Even if someone abuses an outsider, we tend to stop them. The prime minister is part of our own family, and using such language against him is unacceptable. Abusing our heroes, jawans and Delhi Police personnel must stop, and strict action should be taken against those responsible," said Ayan Bhatnagar, who represented the outfit.

The protesters said the ongoing wave of demonstrations was not the right way to seek changes in the system.

The CJP has announced a protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, who faces allegations of electoral roll manipulation under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and of bypassing his two fellow Election Commissioners while making changes to Form 6, a key document used to register as a voter.

The outfit and several student groups have alleged that Kumar oversaw the deletion of lakhs of voters’ names across the country during the SIR exercise.

The planned CJP protest follows three consecutive days of demonstrations by I.N.D.I.A. bloc leaders against Kumar. The protests had brought much of central Delhi to a near standstill, with heavy police deployment, metro station gate closures and barricades erected at key locations.
