Mumbai, Jul 9, 2026: The act of a couple transforming a First AC coupe into a ‘honeymoon-suite’ during their travel on board Nandigram Express from Jalna to Mumbai has left Indian Railways fuming.
The video of the decoration had gone viral on social media platforms.
Social media is flooded with descriptions like "Suhagraat Express" or “Honeymoon-on-Wheels”, jokes and memes.
Hello @AshwiniVaishnaw, does Indian Railways permit passengers to use a First AC coach for a suhagraat? pic.twitter.com/nDUQMkxEyt

Many wrote that instead of suspending the staff, Railways should just start offering paid honeymoon decoration packages.
The romantic set up included flowers, balloons and rose petals - and also a ‘I Love You’ message.
According to available information, the couple seems to have travelled from Jalna to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus on July 6.
The Secunderabad-headquartered South Central Railway (SCR), which comprises the Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded division and oversees Marathwada and Telangana regions, has initiated action.
“A couple travelling in Train No. 11002 Nandigram Express on 6th July, 2026 had privately engaged a decorator online to decorate their 1st AC coupe. The decorator’s entry into the coach at Jalna station was unauthorized and is viewed as a serious lapse,” the SCR posted on X.
“The concerned staff member has been placed under suspension, and a detailed departmental inquiry has been ordered. Appropriate action will be taken based on the inquiry findings,” SCR said tagging Ministry of Railways.
The private coupe arrangement, which usually includes two berths with a lockable door, offers a more secluded travel experience compared to other train cabins.
