Teen girl missing after visit to Dharmasthala in 2012, case registered at Punjalkatte

Belthangady, Aug 15, 2025: Punjalkatte police have registered a case based on a complaint by Nithin Devadiga of Kavalamoordur regarding his younger sister, who has been missing for over a decade.

According to the complaint, Hemalatha, then 17, visited the Dharmasthala temple in 2012 but never returned home. The family has had no contact with her since.


Dharmasthala case: New miissning complaint registered


Citing recent developments and ongoing rituals at Dharmasthala, Nithin has requested the police to reopen and investigate the case to trace his sister.

Police confirmed that the complaint has been taken on record and that further investigation will follow.
