Mangaluru: Two cops suspended for misuse of power

Mangaluru, Apr 11, 2017 : Two cops , a police sub-inspector and a constable from Konaje police station have been suspended for misuse of power and dereliction of duty, on April 11, Tuesday.

suspend PSI Shreekala KT and Police Constable Rajesh are the two cops suspended.The suspension comes in the wake of an atrocity case against the police personnel by a petty shop owner for assaulting and insulting him for selling cigarettes near Mudipu.

Instead of booking a case under COTPA against Rukmayya, they summoned him to Konaje Police Station. Later, the duo abused and also assaulted him. In turn, Rukmayya filed a case against police personnel under SC/ST Prevention of Atrocity Act.

Based on the complaint Shruti N, ACP (South), who carried out investigation, suspended the duo .
