Mangaluru, September 14, 2025: The CCB wing of Mangaluru City Police has busted a racket that created fake Aadhaar cards and RTCs to help accused persons secure bail in serious criminal cases. Five persons have been arrested in connection with the case.

Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said three cases have been registered so far. The arrested are Abdul Rehman (46) of Bappanadu, Nishanth Kumar (28) of Ambika Road, Nithin Kumar (31) of Pudu in Bantwal, Hasan Riyaz (46) of Sajipa Munnur in Bantwal, and Mohammed Haneef (39) of Mangaluru.

Investigations began after Abdul Rehman was detained and found to have used forged documents for securing bail. A complaint by the CCB led to a case at Urwa police station. Nishanth, who worked at an online service centre in Kodialbail, was later arrested for creating fake documents.

According to police, the accused placed their photos on forged Aadhaar cards and posed as sureties in courts. Using this method, they allegedly obtained bail for undertrials in two murder cases and another case under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Nithin Kumar, posing as Ganesh K Salian, secured bail for one accused, while Hasan impersonated AM Hameed to help another accused. Mohammed Haneef acted as the broker in the process.

The first case came to light after a landowner discovered that his RTC had been fraudulently attached in court proceedings. Police said investigations are underway to trace others involved in the racket.
