In response to the sweltering conditions, the Dakshina Kannada District Disaster Management Authority has issued a set of guidelines to mitigate heatstroke risks

Stay hydrated by drinking water regularly and indulge in water-rich fruits such as watermelon, cucumber, and pineapple.

Shield yourself with caps when venturing outdoors.

Opt for loose, light-colored cotton clothing to alleviate discomfort during summer.

Refrain from walking barefoot under the scorching sun; wear appropriate footwear.

Prioritize children’s well-being by ensuring they consume 2-3 liters of water daily to stave off dehydration.

Seek medical attention if symptoms such as fever, cold, headache, or fatigue manifest.
