DKDCC protests against phone tapping episode

Mangalore, July 23, 2011: The DK Distict Congress Committee (DKDCC) organized a protest in front of the DC’s office this morning condemning the tapping of Justice N. Santhosh Hegde’s phone lines and the leakage of the Lokayukta report.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Ramanath Rai blamed the BJP-led state government for the leakage of the mining report, adding that the CBI should thoroughly investigate the phone tapping incident. He said that ministers of the UPA government who were involved in various scams are now behind bars, unlike the corrupt ministers of the Karnataka state government such as the Reddy brothers, Halappa, Renukacharya, and others.

Abhayachandra Jain, the Mulky – Moodubidri MLA, lamented that having a corrupt man such as B. S. Yeddyurappa as the chief minister of the state is indeed a shame.

Vijayakumar Shetty, the former MLA, compared the BJP-led state government to Hitler and questioned the RSS’s silence regarding the corrupt activities within its political arm.

Ivan D’Souza, Mamatha Gatti, and other Congress leaders, Congress workers, and members of the Youth Congress were also present.
