Airport root cause of development in Mangalore - M. R. Vasudeva

Mangalore, July 23, 2011: The valedictory ceremony of Sankritika Kalothsava, which was organized by the Mangalore Airport Jubilee Celebrations Committee, as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Mangalore Airport, was held at Town Hall yesterday.

 

Mangalore Airport Director M. R. Vasudeva said that the airport had applied for an aerodrome license in 2006, adding that the airport has enough facilities to be given an international status. He also said that the airport in Mangalore is the root cause for business, educational, and financial development, adding that it is impossible to imagine Mangalore without an airport.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the KSRTC will not succumb to any pressure to stop Volvo bus facilities to the airport.

The guests distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions.

M. Narendra, the IOB chairman; H. R. Natraj Aras, the collegiate education joint director; Pascal Pinto; Sitaram Kulal; G. G. Mohandas Prabhu, the president of KCCI; B. R. Bhat of Corporation Bank; and Tejomaya were also present.

The Tarana Group presented Yaadhon ki Shaam, a presentation of popular numbers by Manna Dey, Mohammed Rafi, Mahendra Kapoor, and Mukesh.
