The tanker driver, who tried to overtake the bike, hit it instead. When the two fell on the road, the rear wheels of the tanker passed over them.

Manjesh was on his way to Bangalore to look into a marriage proposal on Sunday. He was scheduled to visit the house of the girl with his family. Owing to the weekend rush, he could not get a ticket on any of the night buses from Mangalore and was, therefore, scheduled to leave for Bangalore by evening bus. He, therefore, requested his colleague to drop him at Suratkal so that he could catch his bus soon after work on Saturday.

Unfortunately, the two met with an accident and Manjesh died on the spot. Ramesh died on the way to the hospital.

The two were very close to each other. While Manjesh joined MRPL in 2007, Ramesh had joined it a year earlier than Manjesh.
