Bantara Sangha to hold convention, felicitation programme on April 12

Mangaluru, Apr 10, 2026: The Bantara Yane Nadavara Mathru Sangha will organise a public convention, award presentation and felicitation programme on April 12 at Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall here.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, association president Ajith Kumar Malady said the convention will commence at 9 am.


Bunt Sangha

Judges of the Karnataka High Court, Vishwajit Shetty Savanur and Rajesh Rai Kallangala, will attend as chief guests. K. Mohanadev Atma and Dr M.K. Shailaja Alva will be present. Ajith Kumar Rai Kodialguthu, president of the Sangha, will preside over the programme.

On the occasion, awards and felicitations will be presented to achievers in various fields in memory of Dr K. Nagappa Alva and Kalyani Alva.

Dr Satish Bhandari (medical), Prof Vasanth Shetty Mullad (education), K. Usha P. Rai (literature), Gurukiran Shetty (music), Nayana V. Rai Kudhyadi (dance), Lt Col Ajith Kumar Shetty (national service), Prashanth Rai (kabaddi) and Chinthan S. Shetty (swimming) will receive awards.

Those to be felicitated include Vivek Shetty Bolyaguthu (industry), Prakash Bhandari (culture), K.K. Shetty Kuttika (religious), Karunakara M. Shetty (industrial sector), Dr Deviprasad Shetty (cooperative sector), Venugopal L. Shetty (hospitality), Mugodi Sudhakar Shetty (construction), Dr Naveenchandra Shetty (research), Dr Ashok Alva (ritual practices), Kenchanuru Somashekara Shetty (social service), Dinesh Alva (education), Sadashiva Shetty (agriculture), Dr Saritha Hegde (agricultural development) and Ravindranath Marla (production sector).

P. Kishan Hegde, a Yakshagana organiser, will be specially honoured in memory of Kodialguthu Bhaskara Rai for his contribution to the field of art.
