Gadag, Sep 13, 2026: Karnataka Assembly Speaker and Minister UT Khader on Sunday accused the BJP of indulging in “target politics” through Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids, following searches linked to PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi.
Khader alleged that most ED raids were directed at Congress leaders and claimed that many cases did not result in convictions. He said Congress leaders remained united despite what he described as a smear campaign.

“There is no need to give a different meaning to the Chief Minister’s words. He said that BJP is doing vendetta politics,” Khader said, referring to Chief Minister D K Shivakumar’s remarks that ED raids could be conducted against more ministers.
On inspections of hotels, Khader said raids had already been conducted across districts and urged citizens to use the barcode-based complaint mechanism provided by the government to report violations.
The ED had on Wednesday conducted searches at the residences of Satish Jarkiholi, his daughter and Lok Sabha MP Priyanka Jarkiholi, and his brother-in-law Y Manjunath, among 18 locations in connection with a separate alleged money laundering case against the minister.
