Mangaluru, Oct 30, 2026: A man who travelled from Davanagere to Mangaluru was allegedly abducted and robbed of two bags containing Rs 1.15 crore in cash and two mobile phones. A case has been registered at the Urwa police station.

The victim, identified as Satyanarayana, stated in his complaint that his employer, Nagaraj, a resident of Gandhi Bazaar in Shivamogga, handed him two bags containing Rs 1.15 crore on October 23. He instructed Satyanarayana to travel to Mangaluru, stay at a lodge near the KSRTC bus stand and wait for him to arrive.

Robbery

Following the instructions, Satyanarayana boarded a KSRTC bus from Davanagere at around 10 pm on October 27 and reached Mangaluru at approximately 6 am the next day.

After getting down near Lalbagh, he was walking along the road when four unidentified men wearing mufflers over their faces arrived in a black car. They allegedly forced him into the vehicle and abducted him.

The accused reportedly drove around the city for nearly two hours before snatching the two bags containing Rs 1.15 crore and his two mobile phones. At around 8 am, they dropped him on a hill near the Kavoor bus stand, threatened him with dire consequences and fled.

Based on his complaint, Urwa police have registered a case and taken up the investigation.
