Kundapur: Woman killed as tipper lorry rams scooter at Bijadi

Kundapur, Apr 11, 2026: A 55-year-old woman was killed in a tragic road accident after a tipper lorry rammed into a scooter from behind near the Bijadi divider on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Sharada, wife of late Manjunath Achari, a resident of Neerukodlu in Vaddarse.
According to reports, the lorry was travelling from Udupi towards Kundapur when it hit the scooter. Sharada was heading to her sister’s house at Ankada Katta in Koteshwar, with her son riding the scooter at the time of the incident.
Due to the impact, Sharada died on the spot. Her son escaped without sustaining any life-threatening injuries.
Kundapur police reached the scene upon receiving information, registered a case, and have launched further investigation.
