Vitla, Feb 20, 2026: A child was seriously injured after being attacked by a stray dog while on her way to the anganwadi centre at Bolanthoor in Bantwal taluk on Thursday morning.
The injured child has been identified as Rijila Saramma, daughter of Riyaz, a resident of Narsha Bangarakodi in Bolanthoor.
The anganwadi centre is located close to her house. On Thursday morning, Rijila was walking alone to the centre when a stray dog suddenly attacked her.
The attack left the child with severe injuries all over her body, including serious wounds on her face. She has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment, sources said.
