Uppinangady, Jul 29, 2026: Five persons, including a four-year-old child, were injured after the car they were travelling in rammed into the rear of a parked tipper truck at Mairakatte near Perne on July 28.

The injured have been identified as the car driver, Mohammed Farooq (31), and passengers Fatimath Taspiya (25), Julaika (52), Mohammed Afwan (15), and Mohammed Ilhan (4).


Car crash into tipper

The victims, who are natives of Farangipete, were travelling from Farangipete towards Uppinangady when the accident occurred.

According to police, a tipper truck was parked along the roadside at Mairakatte when the car crashed into its rear.

A case has been registered at the Puttur Traffic Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
