United Welfare Association, Shirva comes into being

Udupi, Mar 21, 2013 :  Residents of Shirva Parish have come together to form the United Welfare Association, Shirva(UWAS). The  new association formed with the motto ‘Let us render help together’ was inaugurated at a function held at Our  Lady of Health Church grounds on March 17, Sunday. Fr Stany Tauro, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Health Church, inaugurated the association.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In his inaugural address, Tauro urged the members of the association to serve the society, particularly the weak and the downtrodden, by considering it as his duty.
 
Parish priest of Tannirbavi Church, Fr Sunil Kumar D’Souza  Conrad Castelino, President of the new Association, Rayan Menezes, Secretary,  Arul D’Souza, Gerald Menezes, Fredrick D’Souza, Stanly Dias, Ronald Moras, Wilson Rodrigues and others were present.
Financial aid worth Rs 50,000 was distributed among 16 needy people on the occasion.
 

 A devotional musical nite was organised on the occasion under the direction of  Dalvin Mendonca. Singers Vinay Lewis, Prajoth D’sa, Anil D’Sa, Nilzy D’sa, Ivy D’Souza and Shaini Rodrigues  contributed to the success of the musical nite.
