According to reports, gas was suddenly released with great force from the factory’s boiler, throwing Maheshwar, who was working nearby, into a deep pit filled with chicken waste.
On seeing Maheshwar fall into the pit, Tanuji and Siddhananda rushed to rescue him but were also injured. Other workers subsequently pulled all three out of the pit and rushed them to hospital.

Maheshwar succumbed to his injuries despite treatment. Tanuji, who sustained serious injuries, was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru, where his condition remains critical. Siddhananda is receiving treatment at Kumble District Cooperative Hospital.
