Mangalore, Mar 22, 2013: The Ocean Pearl, the leading hotel in Mangalore has created a niche in the minds of travelers and gourmet lovers, said Ocean Pearl General Manager   B N Girish.

Speaking at the press meet held at The Ocean Pearl on March 22, Friday   Girish said The Ocean Pearl will upgrade itself into a 5 Star Delux Hotel within the next 12 to 15 months, complete with a state-of-the-art Spa and Swimming Pool and an ultra-modern (rooftop transparently covered) kitchen under the skies giving a surreal experience. Land has been identified and acquired for the Spa and Swimming Pool. Once completed, it will be the first 5 Star Hotel of this coastal city, Girish said.

 

He also said that   a series of mega-food festivals featuring ethnic cuisine from different parts of India and the world will be coming up in the next few months. During the two months of the summer school holidays after March, there will be many food festivals to attract families so that they can feast on delightful cuisine and spend some wonderful time. Also there will be many themed food fests throughout the year, Girish said.

Speaking on the achievement of the hotel, he said that TripAdvisor, world’s largest, most credible travel website has rated The Ocean Pearl as No.1 hotel in Mangalore for 2012. It has been also conferred with the ‘Certificate of Excellence’ for consistently earning top ratings. TripAdvisor leads in rating hospitality establishments worldwide based on travellers’ experience and reviews.

Ocean Pearl has also become the most preferred venue for hosting business meetings, conventions and birthday and wedding parties in Mangalore.

Khau Gali
The Ocean Pearl also brings the magic of street food to Mangalore through ‘Khau Gali’, which literally means ‘Treat Street’ a two week long food fest from March 20 to April 5 from their premium vegetarian restaurant Sagar Ratna.

The fest is being organized to give Mangaloreans an opportunity to discover the varied flavours of the street food of the north. All these dishes will be prepared under the supervision of Master Chefs who have many years of experience in various premium hotels in north India.

The main delicacies will be Dahi papdi chaat, Dahi Pakodi, Raj Kachori, Dilli University Ke Bread Pakode, Kishan Chacha Ke Chole Kulche, Redi Ke Dahi Bhalle, Aloo Tikki Chole, Samose Chole, Khasta Kachori Chole, Ram Ladoo, Palak Patta Chaat, Paaan Patta Chaat, to name a few. Every day there will a Chef’s special dish which will be a pick from the local dishes of the northern region.
