Shri Venkataramana Temple organize mass Annasantharpana

Mangalore, Jan 17, 2012: The management of the Shri Venkataramana Temple on Car Street organized a massive annasantharpana or the act of serving food to a large number of devotees, as part of the re-consecration ceremony of Shri Veera Venkatesha and other deities within the renovated temple on Jan 17 Tuesday. 

The event featured a total of 15 food counters, with separate arrangements made for men and women. Delicious traditional dishes such as Dali Thoy, Koddhel, Chane – Kadgi Gashi, and others, along with Gulab Jamoon for dessert were served over the counters.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The temple will serve food to more than 40,000 devotees in Temple square for the day and will continue to do so till evening. 

The highlight of the event is that the temple is serving food as prasadam and also Laddu’s in the temple premises to people of other castes for the first time in its history. 

The temple premises look grand with innumerable devotees flocking to view the Lord and receive his blessings.
