Mangalore, Nov 19, 2011 : C. Mallikarjuna, the regional transport officer, inaugurated Pre Unique 2011, the cultural festival of St. Aloysius Pre University College, on Nov 18 Friday.
In his inaugural address, he mentioned the importance of cultural festivals and how they provide opportunities for students to exhibit their talents, improve their organizational skills, learn team work, and develop leadership qualities. He also expressed his appreciation of the college for providing students an opportunity to develop leadership qualities.
Fr. Joseph Ignatius Rodrigues presided over the event and urged students to use the opportunity placed before them. He said that the cultural festival gives space to students to grow in all aspects.
Eighteen colleges registered for the event on the first day and some more are expected to register on the second day. The cultural festival comprises 25 events and 28 competitions related to science, speech, writing, and mathematics. Speaking on the occasion, one of the lecturers said that the purpose of the festival is to give cultural and intellectual exposure to students’ talents.
Fr. Elvis C. Lewis, the administrator; John D’Silva, the principal; Ashwin Veigas, the convener; and many others were also present.
