Mangalore, April 11: Mercury levels plummeted when rains lashed against the twin districts to the accompaniment of thunder and lightening on the afternoon of Sunday.

Kundapur witnessed heavy rains with lightening and thunder. Places such as Haladi, Jannadi, Hallihole, Kundaput Town, Siddapura, Tekkatte, Kedur, Goliangadi, Amasebail, Amparu, Hosangadi, Gangolli, Neralakatte, and others witnessed rainfall for nearly one hour on Sunday. There was moderate rainfall in Karkala, Hebri, Ajekar too.


Raindrops fell on the annual Chendu Jatre in Polali. Vittal and its surroundings witnessed rains, thunder, and lightening.
