CT Ravi Ridicules Karnataka Govt’s 1,000 Days as ‘Scams and Failures’

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, Feb 15, 2026: BJP functionary and MLC CT Ravi on Saturday ridiculed the Congress-led Karnataka government, alleging that it was celebrating “1,000 days of 1,000 scams and problems.”

Addressing a press conference at the BJP office here, Ravi questioned whether the government was celebrating corruption or the state’s “bankrupt exchequer,” asserting that it had no moral right to mark the milestone when people were in distress. He also accused the Congress high command of exploiting the power tussle between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to fund the AICC.

Ravi asked Congress leaders to resolve the internal power struggle before the next state budget is presented, alleging a collapse of law and order, a free hand to the drug mafia, and a standstill in development works.

He alleged corruption in the management of SCP/TSP funds, implementation of the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, distribution of Anna Bhagya rice, misappropriation of funds in the Valmiki Corporation, and referred to the MUDA scam involving the Chief Minister. Claiming that about ₹180 crore swindled from the Valmiki Corporation was yet to be fully recovered, Ravi said corruption had reached an all-time high.

Ravi further cited rising prices of essential commodities, hikes in electricity tariffs, cess on petrol and diesel, and increased RTC fees as burdens on the public. He alleged that contractors were unpaid bills amounting to ₹37,000 crore over the past three years and that no major development projects were taken up during the government’s tenure.

Terming the government anti-youth, Ravi said job creation had been neglected, recruitment had stalled despite vacancies, government hospitals faced medicine shortages, and leaders heading corporations and boards were accorded cabinet ranks.
