Pooja Gandhi to act in Tulu film ’Beere Devu Poonje’

Mangalore, July 7: R. Dhanjay, the director and producer of the Tulu film “Beere Devu Poonje,” said that Pooja Gandhi, who achieved great fame in the super hit Sandalwood movie “Mungaru Male,” will act in his film. He was addressing reporters at a press conference held at Press Club on July 7, Wednesday.

Explaining the matter further, he said that Pooja Gandhi will play the role of Sindhu in his film and renowned actress Vinaya Prasad will act the role of Maharani Somali Devi of Bailangady. The role of Devu Poonja will be played by R. Shekar Kotian, who acted as Chennayya in the historical movie “Koti Chennayya,” he informed.

The film has a budget of Rs 70 lakhs and the selected locations for shooting are Padubidri, Mulky, Venoor, and others, he said. The story is written by Kadri Navneeth Shetty and the film is co-produced by Udaykumar Shetty and Dinakar Shetty. The music is provided by Manikanth Kadri and the costumes have been designed by Chandrashekar Suvarna. Co-director Prakash Padubidri and Cameraman S. N. B Murthy will also play a great role in the success of this movie, he said.

The film’s muhurat will be held on September 10, he said.
