Mangaluru, May 3, 2025: In a major development, police have arrested eight individuals in connection with the murder of Suhas Shetty in Mangaluru, a city often marked by communal tensions.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, May 3, State Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara stated that the suspects were apprehended from various locations across Mangaluru district and are currently under interrogation.
The arrested individuals have been identified as follows:
Abdul Safwan (29), a driver from Shantigudde
Niyaz (28), a mason from Shantigudde
Mohammed Muzamil (32), from Kenjar, a former salesman in Saudi Arabia who was recently married
Kalandhar Shafi (31), a salesman from Kursugudde, currently working in Bengaluru
Ranjith (19), a driver from Kalasa in Chikkamagaluru
Nagraj (20), also from Kalasa, employed at a tent rental business
Mohammed Rizwan (28), from Jokatte, another returnee from employment in Saudi Arabia
Adil Maharoof, the brother of Fasil
