Mangaluru, Aug 12, 2022: Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport have seized 831 grams of 24 carat gold from a passenger who arrived by an Air India flight from Dubai on August 10, Wednesday.
The passenger from Kasargod had concealed the gold inside a stitched pocket in his undergarment. The gold was in paste form and was packed in a pouch with a tape. The value of the gold is estimated at Rs 43,29,510.
In another case, Customs officials of the Air intelligence unit of the MIA seized foreign currency worth Rs 5,97,040 from a man who arrived by a flight from Dubai. The arrested man is from Bhatkal and had carried the foreign currencies in a handbag.
